Stats and Milestones

Davis had his 9 month check-up on Wednesday and the doctor said he was "perfect"...words a mom loves to hear!  He's a big, healthy boy and is doing just great.  Trust me, you don't take health for granted when you have a baby.  He's still just got two little teeth on the bottom, but apparently he doesn't need any more than that.  He can chow down on crackers, beans, pasta, veggies, and just about anything we give him.

Our little mover and shaker is cruising away, doing laps around the den holding on to anything that will stand still (or that he thinks will stand still).  He's taken a few steps here and there hands-free, but I wouldn't say he's a "walker" just yet.  And speaking of important milestones, Davis had his first bite of a pork skin last week.  We took him to Carolina Barbecue to eat dinner, where they serve you with fresh pork skins as you are seated.  They were so light and crunchy, we couldn't resist letting him try one.  Surprise, surprise, he loved it!  I couldn't find "pork skins" anywhere under the lists of first foods for babies, so I'm assuming that means they are perfect for any age?  Please don't call the mommy police on me!

A rare moment where Davis is still and being sweet.  Looking at pictures on Daddy's phone helped a little.
On Wednesday we went to NC State's annual Farm Animal Days event with my cousins and their children.  We had a ball, and most importantly we got to sample some ice cream made locally at State.  Davis now wants a John Deere Gator and a goat...So do I.

  1. I was just stopping by and I saw that you had a new post. Guess what? Dr. Sears (on The Doctors) said that pork skins were the healthiest convenient store snack. Davis, eat up:-)

  4. We had fun hanging with you and Davis at the Farm Days event. Of course Davis is perfect. The doctor didn't have to say that for us to all know it is true. :)
