Mr. Al
Davis attended his first concert yesterday. Mr. Al performed at Meymandi Hall downtown and my cousin, Anna was nice enough to invite us to go see him. Davis did very well, considering he's not usually big on loud noises. (No tears, just a few eyebrow curls and lots of jaw dropping.) He even danced and "sung" a little. He and his cousin, Sawyer both took little siestas in the middle of the show but they both woke up ready to party some more! Thanks again, Anna, for including us. You are my connection to the "mommy world" and you always know what's happening around Raleigh!

Springtime
We are loving spring already! We'll take the pollen and the bugs as long as we also get the beautiful flowers, warmer temperatures, and the sound of birds chirping. The whole family is excited about spending more time outside, getting some exercise, and the fact that beach/lake time is just a little bit closer!
Looks like Davis is going to love playing with boxes as much as his mama. I used to beg my mom to buy a lawn mower or a refrigerator just so I could make a "house" out of the box. |

Bye-Bye
Davis simultaneously waved and said "bye-bye" to his grandaddy on Tuesday. He must have been REAL happy to see him leave! Hahaha, JUST KIDDING. Love you, Dad! Davis loves his grandaddy as well as the rest of his wonderful grandparents. It was the first time he's waved on command, and to see him do it while imitating the words was amazing! I'm so proud of my boy! Of course, I screamed so loud when it happened that he probably won't do it again for a couple of years.
Another cute thing he's doing is attempting to say "Yay!" whenever we get excited and clap for him. He doesn't clap; he just moves his arms up and down and says, "Ayyyy". He's also developed quite the "courtesy laugh". Whenever someone is laughing, in person or on TV, he laughs right along with them. This little booger's gettin' him some social skills!

Stats and Milestones
Davis had his 9 month check-up on Wednesday and the doctor said he was "perfect"...words a mom loves to hear! He's a big, healthy boy and is doing just great. Trust me, you don't take health for granted when you have a baby. He's still just got two little teeth on the bottom, but apparently he doesn't need any more than that. He can chow down on crackers, beans, pasta, veggies, and just about anything we give him.
Our little mover and shaker is cruising away, doing laps around the den holding on to anything that will stand still (or that he thinks will stand still). He's taken a few steps here and there hands-free, but I wouldn't say he's a "walker" just yet. And speaking of important milestones, Davis had his first bite of a pork skin last week. We took him to Carolina Barbecue to eat dinner, where they serve you with fresh pork skins as you are seated. They were so light and crunchy, we couldn't resist letting him try one. Surprise, surprise, he loved it! I couldn't find "pork skins" anywhere under the lists of first foods for babies, so I'm assuming that means they are perfect for any age? Please don't call the mommy police on me!
On Wednesday we went to NC State's annual Farm Animal Days event with my cousins and their children. We had a ball, and most importantly we got to sample some ice cream made locally at State. Davis now wants a John Deere Gator and a goat...So do I.

A rare moment where Davis is still and being sweet. Looking at pictures on Daddy's phone helped a little. |

Party, Party, Party
Well we had/are having a wonderful weekend at the Fox house. Yesterday we had a get-together with great friends which also happened to be a surprise shower for Beth and Walter, as they are getting married next weekend. Beth is pretty much my oldest friend so it was a pleasure to be able to do something to celebrate her and her future husband.
Don't get me wrong, this party wasn't all cake and presents...it was mostly ACC tournament mixed with good food and company. Much of the day was spent watching basketball, catching up with folks we hadn't seen in a long time, and watching babies play.

Today we plan to enjoy this beautiful weather and take a nice long walk, and later we are meeting our friends Jenny and Ryan (who are in town from Florida) in Raleigh for dinner...Oh, and I guess we'll be watching the Duke/Carolina game, too.
